66°North was founded in 1926 by Hans Kristjánsson with the purpose of making protective clothing for Icelandic fishermen and workers braving the North Atlantic elements.For nearly 100 years 66˚North’s products have been designed and proven in Iceland, worn by everyday people and outdoor professionals in some of the world’s most challenging conditions.
In 2021 we became a certified B Corp, joining a global community of brands meeting high standards of environmental and social impact. Everything we make is approached with a circular mindset - designing and making products that are fit for purpose, made to last, repairable, and create minimal waste - with end-of-life considered at the beginning.
